Precious Hearts Learning Center

Stacy's weekly favorite quote from one of her favorite books or from someone special that has touched her life:

You don't have control over what others think about you, but you do have control over how you decide to internalize their opinions.  Leave them to their own judgements.  Let people love you for who you are, and not for who they want you to be

August Parent News letter

UP-DATED AT 11:30 am

Saturday, August 19, 2017

THE CENTER IS NOT CLOSING FOR THE ECLIPSE ON MONDAY.  WE WILL ALSO NOT BE GETTING THE PRE-SCHOOL STUDENTS UP FOR THIS EVENT BECAUSE OF SAFETY REASONS.  WE ARE AFRAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT WEAR THE GLASSES OR THEY WOULD TAKE THEM OFF DURING THE TIME NEEDED.

I AM ALSO GOING TO BE BACK STARTING MONDAY FROM AROUND 8:00AM TILL AROUND 4:00 PM MONDAY-FRIDAY. I HAVE BEEN CARING DIFFERENT HOURS THIS SUMMER AND HAVE CHANGED MY HOURS FOR THE FALL A LITTLE.  THERE WILL BE TIMES I AM IN EARLIER OR LATER DEPENDING ON STAFFING AND EVENTS.

Parents please read the Parent Policy as we have up-dated several areas in the policy.  We have had to make some changes to the rates.   We are changing our rates for some of our preschool programs and our fees for when school is out.  We are proud that we have not changed our pre-school rates for over 4 years or our Before/After School rates, but with the increase in utilities, food cost, fuel and insurance premiums rising we are having to raise our fees.  This increase is less than a  6% increase over 4 years.  Please note that the changes will take effect on October 30, 2017.

Note - not all fees have changed.

If you have any questions please contact me by phone or email.  I am usually at the center between 8:00-4:00 every day.  W

Please check the website Event Calendar for the remainder of the years up coming events and days closing thru December 2018.  Please note that if we are closed they are paid days off.  We don't close for very many days through the year.

Please check your students web page for updates and curriculum changes

for the up-coming week over the weeke7nd.  We have moved all the students into their new rooms.  Some students may move later once we get the classrooms settled.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW OUR PROCEDURES IN CASE OF STORMY WEATHER.

Parents, just a friendly reminder that if the sirens are going off during the storms that we will be experiencing in the next few months, if you are on PHLC premises, we will need for you to be down in the basement with us.  We will not allow any student to leave while the sirens are going off and they will need to stay in the basement until we are given the all clear.  This usually takes approx. ten minutes.  Please understand that safety is always our top priority.  This does include being in the parking lot.  We have lots of responsibilities and we really need our parents to please follow these safety precautions necessary for all of us to be safe.

PHLC has worked really hard to make sure our facility and the grounds are looking at its best.  Parents please make sure that you and your children to not walk through the center island, or in the rocks in front of the school building.  We are trying to keep everything looking nice and its very important that you walk around the center island in the middle of the parking lot.

Per Policy of PHLC we ask that you do not put Birthday Invitations in the students cubbies, lockers, folders or pass them out in the parking lot.   This is a policy we have for several reasons. It is very expensive for parents to have to invite every one in the class, it also is very expensive for some to go to so many parties. The main reason is because if you don't invite every one in the class, students talk and the ones not invited get their feelings hurt. We understand that kids want to have parties, but we ask that you follow our policies. This is also teaching the kids to follow some of the same policies at public school. Please if you have any questions contact me.

A NEW POLICY HAS BEEN PUT INTO PLACE AT THE FACILITY.  PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD(REN) TO WEAR THE LIGHT UP SHOES TO THE CENTER.  THEY HAVE REALLY BECOME A HUGE ISSUE DURING NAP TIME AND IT IS REALLY BECOMING A DISTRACTION FOR MANY. WE UNDERSTAND THEY LOVE THESE SHOES, BUT WE ARE REALLY HAVING TROUBLE WITH THEM PLAYING WITH THEM AT NAP AND KEEPING OUR FRIENDS AWAKE.  WE HAVE TO HAVE THEIR SHOES ON THEM DURING NAP FOR SAFETY AND EVACUATION PURPOSES, BUT MANY OF THEM ARE PLAYING AROUND AND KEEPING FRIENDS AWAKE.  WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE NOT LET THEM WEAR THEM TO THE CENTER.  THIS POLICY WENT INTO AFFECT ON OCTOBER 31, 2016
